A Vibrant Community Hub Supporting Farmers,
Local Business, and Families
All Under One Roof
Mill Street Market (MSM) is a groundbreaking community hub in Hastings, Michigan, developed by the Barry Community Foundation (BCF) and local partners, including B.Healthy Barry County, after five years of grassroots planning. Designed to address key rural challenges, MSM brings together a Farm Stop Market & Café, Commercial Teaching and Incubator Kitchen, and a Childcare Center. This integrated approach supports working families, strengthens the local food economy, and nurtures small business development.
By housing these services under one roof, MSM creates a replicable model for rural revitalization— positioning Hastings as a leader in community-driven innovation and resilience.
Farm Stop Market
& Café
A year round retail and café space that sources from local farms, offering consignment-based sales and a farm-to-table experience. While our focus is on local, seasonal offerings, we also feature thoughtfully selected goods from fair trade cooperatives and small, mission-driven businesses.

Mill Street Market Mission
Our mission is to strengthen local food systems, improve access to healthy food, and create economic opportunities for local farmers and small businesses through an integrated set of services.
